Neormuscular Therapy

My goal is to help rid your body of pain … without causing pain, without surgery, without drugs … and to produce lasting results.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMET) can be a permanent solution to pain. How? Are we supposed to get old and feel bad or be in a lot of pain? If you have pain, there is a cause for your pain. Pain is an effect. With NMET we want to find the cause of the problem so that we can eliminate the pain. And we look at the whole person. Sometimes a person experiences pain because their body is not perpendicular to the ground. If one side of the body is carrying most of the weight (the joints on that side will begin to wear out, just like the tires on your car will wear out or wear unevenly when they’re not balanced. )

Pain is a symptom. When you treat pain with medication, muscle relaxants and anti-inflammatory products, you are treating the symptom. Treat the symptom and the pain is masked. Treat the cause and the pain goes away.

About 10 % of pain is caused by visceral problems or diseased tissue, such as cancer or a diseased organ.. Obviously this kind of pain requires medical treatment and the person is not a candidate for NMET. However, about 90% of all pain is caused by soft tissue dysfunction: constricted muscles, tendons, ligaments putting pressure on a nerve and creating the pain. When the soft tissue is released, so is the pressure and the pain goes away That is our goal in neuromuscular therapy - to look for the cause and release the muscles creating the problem.

Is it that simple? Sometimes, yes it is. The body is designed for the bones to bear the weight of the body. If the body is out of balance, over time chronic conditions can arise and the effect is pain.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMET) promotes healthy tissue, increases blood flow to soft tissue, reducing toxins and promotes better lymph flow.

NMET is a very specific and efficient hands-on modality, a very precise type of massage therapy, which helps bring balance to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems of the body. Dysfunction and imbalance in these systems create a variety of symptoms which include:
